Nuffield There are multiple DMX rings(aka the DMX chain at each point must be completed going back into the wall) going to different parts of the theatre that come out in a patchbay in the LX booth The rings are labelled with letters, points along each ring are incremental in number according to the order A 2 universe with 8 ports per universe splitter is located underneath the patchbay DMX inputs that come out at the patchbay are at the sound position and under the table in the LX booth. The production desk DMX input comes out under the LX booth table and must be plugged back into an input (this 5 pin connection is typically used with 2 universes going down it, splitter to split the universes is in the patchbay) NB: F8 (USL panel next to the technician's office) does not have a flying DMX loop cable, it instead has a button THAT MUST BE OUT IF YOU ARE TAKING DMX OUT (and then complete the loop yourself) the BNC ties although up to some BBC specification, are not suitable for 75 ohm SDI and will not work more than 5m!! The Nuffield does have a DVI ethernet extender that works on their ethernet ties at ~480-720p/30 the nuffield have a DMX shutter that usually you need to rent, but if you ask nicely you can get it for free The non-dims are on 15A plugs with a 16A?? breaker on each output. These are then grouped onto 25A RCDs? in (usually) groups of 6s. The total available supply on the non-dims is 100A 3ph with the NDs somewhat spread evenly across the theatre there are non-dims available on the booms infront of the pross, but they are almost all the way at the top. Usually it is easier to use the NDs on the curvys TDs: When agreeing the hire of the venue, make sure to state if you want the standard rig or PAR rig or empty otherwise you may have a nasty surprise when arriving on the day!
