Biography
Dave is a Postgraduate Nuclear Forensic Scientist with The University of Southampton, MOD & AWE (2012/6). Dave also completed his undergraduate degree at The University of Southampton with a Masters in Geology (2007/11). Dave has been a member of StageSoc since 2008.
Dave got into technical theatre in a little bit of a different route to the normal. He started as an actor during his school years and took leading rolls in Greece, Pirates of Penzance and Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. In his later years in school, Dave was asked to use his knowledge of the schools mixing desk to be a soundie for the next production of Romeo Loves Juliet instead of being an actor. He took the job and from this point he performed from the other side of the stage. His love of live music and being involved with many bands ranging from jazz and bigband to rock and metal took him on to do an A-Level in Music Technology and also ran sessions in the studios at his college to help up and coming bands in the local area try and make a break for themselves.
University arrived and Dave never found the PAU tent in his fresher year and therefore never discovered StageSoc until year 2 where he has stayed a loyal member and crewed/designed many shows on the sound front.
