Changes to socials Section

Hi all, You'll probably have noticed that a while ago the socials got split into 3 sub categories in order to try to distinguish between different types of posts and to make it easier to find details of official socials. After this change was made there was further discussion between the committee a...

Re: Upcoming events

Apologoies for dragging this one up again, it would probably be worth showing the month in the upcoming events box if it isn't the current month.

Re: RSS feed

I've just spotted something really odd going on. In Claytons post about speciing the PA system he's got a series of links etc, but the behringer bit didn't appear. I've checked the raw RSS in firefox so it's not just an outlook issue. It just appears as A cheapish Behringer ( <img src="h...

Re: Show info

That would require the administration interface to be written - at the moment everything that's put in the shows section is done by directly editing the database. So whilst I think it's a good idea any form of admin interface would be a good start.

Re: Show info

I thought Mike was an ASM not sound, and Hannah E and Chris D were runners, also Chris K as general crew?

EDIT: This would be much easier with an admin interface :p

Re: Show info

I can't remember who did what, but if people want to let me know the roles for the various shows I'm happy to add them to the db.

Re: RSS feed

Hmm, whilst it's not an issue for me as I had the feed setup any way it's still not letting me subscribe from firefox. Interestingly the url that outlook says it can't find is all lower case, whereas the hash includes upper case characters - so I wonder if that's the issue.

Re: RSS feed

I've just tried the subscibing using firefox to setup Outlook and have got the same error using the generic RSS feed which just tested out ok - so there must be some wierd incompatability between firefox and outlook. Does IE require a different tag to recognise RSS feeds, as that problem could be wh...

Re: RSS feed

I've just tried subscribing to the rss feed as a guest (so I didn't have to delete my oringal one incase it didn't come back) and it worked fine - there is a short hash for it, I've also just tried Dave's hash and that also worked fine - so it must be something computer specific - but I have no idea...

Re: RSS feed

Given that I've just got notifications via outloook 2007 and the RSS feed about these posts that part of it seems to be working fine. To add it to outlook I just went to account settings, RSS Feeds, New and copied and pasted the rss address from firefox in there and all was happy. I see what you mea...

Re: Shows database ordering

Purely unintentional.

Yes that sounds a sensible way of doing it, and then each group has it's own ordering

Re: Shows database ordering

That's what I was thinking would need doing. Edit: I think it's my desktop playing up, it's just done it to another website as we...

Shows database ordering

I've just noticed that the ordering of roles in the shows db seems to be a bit odd if you look at the revue the Radio Mic Technicians aren't listed next to each other. I think all it will take is to re number the order field - possibly grouping all lx things together and so on. I think the table has...

Re: Upcoming events

Putting a show in automagically updates the calender - so to have the detail in the shows database means it also is in the calender. In a way it makes sense for it all to be there as they are seperate events that will need different numbers of people. Unfortunately it's been happening more regularly...

Re: Upcoming events

Yes, that would make sense, as at the moment it's misleading. It would have been even more confusing last saturday (with 5 events on 1 day) if any of us had had a chance to look at it!!

Re: New Website!

And another one I'm afraid.

The production dates for shows don't appear to be sorted. It just seems to use the order in which they were added to the DB. As I've just added the matinee to the sweeney entry it's now in the wrong order.

Re: New Website!

The payment system for events looks good, but surely it would make sense for the people down as not attending not to have the unpaid icon next to their names as they have nothing to pay for.

Re: Show Images

Surely you could use a couple of nested queries so that you just enter the person's name or username, and role name.
